DESCRIPTION:Journey into Time – A (soft) Rock Opera - A word from Dick Whittington Composer and Arranger (and local Sunshine Coast Resident)\n\nThis opera was written in November 1981 and has been languishing in drawers\, gathering dust since then and has only recently been recorded at the insistence of my daughter and put on a double CD in anticipation of this one-off stage performance.\n\nThis has been a journey of discovery for myself\, and it has been my great pleasure to work with several local artists and musicians in the making of the CD and who will also be performing the opera on stage.\n\nInspired by the music of Pink Floyd\, The Moody Blues\, Simon and Garfunkel\, Cat Stevens and Leonard Cohen\, this 24-song rock opera will take you on an interstellar journey through space\, time and within yourself.\n\nFrom being launched on a Saturn V rocket\, your mission takes you to the outer reaches of the Solar System beyond the planet Uranus where you are suddenly transported\, through a wormhole\, to a new world in a different solar system.\n\nTrapped in this glass world\, along with other similarly trapped interstellar travellers from other solar systems\, you resolve to escape and find your way back to Earth.\n\nMusic is the source of your liberation but\, once freed\, you find that you are unable to get back to Earth and must continue your journey of discovery in this new solar system.\n\nEach song uniquely progresses your journey as you encounter obstacles along the way\, in space and within yourself\, and overcome them with music\, ultimately being the salvation of your soul.\n\nJoin us to recognise two of the most meaningful charities in the Noosa Shire. 100% of all ticket sales are going to the Katie Rose Cottage Hospice and the Salvation Army\, Noosaville on a 50/50 basis.\n\nDates:\nThursday 10th August 2023 @ 7.30pm\n\nTicket Prices:\nAll Tickets $39.00\n\nBUY TICKETS\n\nDuration: 1 hours 45 mins NO interval\n\n
