Description
Across the river from Noosa Heads and Noosaville is the beautiful and laid back Noosa North Shore – a long stretch of white sand and pristine water.
To access the North Shore you need to cross the Noosa River using the Noosa North Shore car ferry which operates between Tewantin and the North Shore seven days a week between 5.30am to 10.20pm (later at the weekend). A 4WD is needed to drive along the beach, and access some internal roads.
There are many way to explore Noosa North Shore, you can just drive along the beach and find a spot to relax, have a picnic, try a spot of fishing.
Stop at the pub for lunch or dinner and enjoy and some local entertainment.
Alternatively drive the scenic and spectacular 60km to Double Island Point, here you can swim with the turtles, dolphins and manta rays. At the right time of year its also a great spot for watching migrating whales.
The North Shore is also the gateway to the world renowned Fraser Island.
There are options for accommodation including camping and the Noosa North Shore Retreat.
A permit is required to drive on the North Shore.
