Angie Narayan is undoubtedly the strongest soul voice that Australia has ever heard. It is easy to understand why Angie continues to captivate audiences, having built a following as worthy as her reputation.
A fierce powerhouse, audiences remember Angie from her Australian Idol performances, where Ian ‘Dicko’ Dickinson accurately bestowed her the ‘Soul Mama’ title which has never left her.
ACT ONE begins with a bang in the 1960s, taking you back in time where Aretha’s career all began. Introduced to Aretha’s family, you explore her childhood, the church, meeting her Manger/ Husband, the Civil Rights Movement, her biggest musical crush and the profound impact the song RESPECT had on the world! ‘Natural Woman’, Say A Little Prayer’ and ‘Son of a Preacher Man’ are just a taste of Aretha’s classics you can expect!

There is one big surprise near the end of the show that no expects but has people literally in tears!
Angie not only sings from the timeless Aretha songbook, but she also sings the praises of a woman who was a powerful figure for feminism and civil rights, in an era of discrimination and racism.
